Artist's Comments

A commissioned piece for a nice woman that simply wanted a phoenix. It was a real learning experience, especially with the balance of this. I used a lot of thick wire and did a number of bakings. I used gold pearl ex for a nice sheen. About 9.5 inches tall, wing span of 12 inches. Done in super sculpey. And yes, I do each one of those feathers by hand, no tricks here!

Wow, very nice! Absolutely amazing detail on it. I wish I had something positive to say other than "wow" :D

Awesome. The feathers and the feet and the beak and....it's all awesome. You have true sculpting talent.

Beautiful; all that work on the feathers really shows. :)

Amazing how you got the phoenix to stand on its tailfeathers! Wow. It must have been a test of your patience, what with the balancing and details and all. Nice dynamics in the sculpture-- it feels like the phoenix is soaring up out of the base. I like the smooth gradient from red to yellow on the wings. Were the gradients airbrushed or hand painted on?

Wow that is an awesome piece! Do you have an online catalogue that you place your pieces of artwork on to order from? Or are all these just commissioned pieces? :) *curious buyer*

In the 60's people took acid to make the world weird. Now the world is weird and people take Prozac to make it normal.
